Letters written by a member of Company B of the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment, describing daily life of a Civil War soldier in campaigns in Virginia and Maryland. The letters describe the 2nd Battle of Bull Run and the Battle of Fair Oaks, and provide an infantryman's perspective on General George B. McClellan and Confederate President Jefferson Davis.
